I heard this song on the radio today (Sirius Big 80's) and it brought back some pretty powerful feelings. I grew up obsessed with MTV in the 80's, and this is one of the videos that I really got into. It's full of the big-hair of that decade, and invoked a lot of emotion in my teenage heart. That lead singer is prettier than the girls in the video. I like 80s music a lot better when I don't have to look at the singers.
I grew up thinking MTV was a soul-damning spawn of Hell.
Yeah, the girls aren't all that attractive, but you have to remember, I was 13 and they were wearing short skirts. 'Nuf said.
Oh, man! The video's make the music twice as good in my opinion...
I didn't realize the MTV/Hell connection till much later. Sometimes I wish I'd have never found out.
I do recall with some wry amusement that, even though I was a holy child, I did love the Beach Boys Kokomo.
Let's not get into your "holy child" self-deception. I have stories. I shall keep them forever quiet...unless you cross me;) Kokomo was good; wasn't it on that Tom Cruise movie where he was a barteneder? I'd look to see what it is buy I'm too lazy to get out my Googler...
